Accreditation
In this section
The Environmental Chemistry Laboratory (EC Lab) is an International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) accredited laboratory. Accreditation by IANZ is the international process that assesses and recognises the technical competence and quality processes of a professional service and its staff, and is an achievement of which we are very proud.
Part of the requirements for continuing IANZ accreditation is participation in laboratory proficiency programmes. The EC Lab takes part in the annual plant and soil sample analysis programmes run by the Australasian Plant and Soil Analysis Council (ASPAC). We also participate in a monthly soil sample exchange programme with four other New Zealand laboratories engaged in the same sort of testing as ourselves. This allows an evaluation of our analytical performance by comparison with the results of the other laboratories.
Scope of Accreditation
The current version of the laboratory's scope of accreditation can be downloaded from the IANZ directory using Landcare Research as the Search by keyword.
The Scope of Accreditation is under:
Name: Landcare Research New Zealand Limited
Programme: LAB-CHEM
Region: Palmerston North
Reports containing results for accredited tests now carry the accreditation logo (shown right). Look for it as an assurance of technical competence.
