Why Manaaki Whenua
Our Land, Our Future is the core of our being. Our research focuses on preserving New Zealand's rich biodiversity by improving biosecurity and keeping our environment healthy.
We have teams based in the South Island at Lincoln (near Christchurch), and Dunedin, and in the North Island at Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North and Wellington.
Our skill in soil and biosecurity research is recognised internationally and by organisations within New Zealand. Pest eradication expertise led by our researchers is now considered an export industry for Aotearoa New Zealand.
We recognise that modern science cannot be worked on in isolation. Our partnerships with Māori allow us to embrace a holistic approach to bring knowledge, understanding and practical tools to all New Zealanders so we can live in harmony with our environment.
