Molecular technician Ana Podolyan is creating a series of videos on research the GEM lab is involved with that will be accessed via Te Mātāpuna Mātātahi I Children’s University, an education platform regularly accessed by more than 1,200 primary school children across 32 primary schools and marae-based communities in Canterbury.
Ana is also taking part in Lincoln High School's Adopt-A-Scientist programme and recently hosted three Lincoln High School Year 9 students in the lab. Parent help and mum Nicola McDowell said the students, Maddie McDowell, Angela Phuyel and Sarah Newcombe were thrilled to be doing “real science in a real lab.”
Ana Podolyan explains how things work in the GEM lab to Lincoln Year 9 students Maddie McDowell, Angela Phuyel, mum Nicola McDowell and Sarah Newcomb.
