Applications of LiDAR: insights from the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council and MWLR partnership programme

This webinar series covers an overview of the project demonstrating various applications of LiDAR. After a brief introduction to the partnership project, the project leads of the different sub-projects will each present results of their work. Presentations cover applications of LiDAR data that improve land mapping, erosion management, vegetation mapping, and mapping of ecosystem services. Findings of these projects have already been used by Hawke's Bay Regional Council, for example in the implementation of winter grazing regulation, and the land slide susceptibility layer has been used by the pastoral farming sector to identify erosion prone land after Cyclone Gabrielle.
